Marissa

Marissa is a Licensed Certified Social Worker who earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Women's Studies, followed by her Master's degree in Social Work from Texas State University. 

She has had a diverse range of professional experiences, including working in schools and alternative education settings, intensive in-home therapy, and a teen refugee assistance program. 

Marissa uses an eclectic mix of mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, and solution-focused strategies to help clients overcome issues such as trauma, self-harming behavior, suicidal ideation, and relationship struggles. 

She particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young people as they launch into adulthood, and works with the LGBTQIA+ community. 

She also enjoys helping parents with skill building to improve family functioning and harmony. Marissa is passionate about social justice concerns and "Tikkun Olam," or leaving the world in a better state than we found it.
