As I have worked in the field of mental health for nearly a decade, I have come to realize that many people view the world of therapy as intimidating and two dimensional. Throughout my educational and professional career, I have found it to be so much more than this. For the past 10 years I have worked diligently on providing safe spaces for clients to engage in new forms of self expression, emotional exploration, and to find a sense of grounding in their day to day lives. I am a passionate and dedicated clinician who specializes in Art Therapy, Trauma-informed care, as well as Mindfulness as therapeutic modality. Much of my experience has been working with adolescents and young adults processing trauma while navigating particularly transformative years of their lives as they transition into adulthood. I have a significant breadth of knowledge of PTSD in adolescence and utilize dynamic approaches to rewire traumatic responses to triggering stimuli. I have experience working in residential settings, outpatient clinics, as well as counseling in the field of higher education.
I approach each counseling session from a holistic point of view and support clients in finding balance in their current lives while processing and healing from the past. I often take a strengths-based and solution-focused approach when working with clients to meet their short term and long term goals. I create individualized treatment plans based on client’s level of need as well as their own strengths and skills when beginning therapy.
